He shouted at her saying that he had
spend lakhs of rupees on the treatment and blamed her
for carelessness and dullness. Neha always felt guilty,
scary and timid. Whenever a doctor was consulted her
father used to tell the doctor that he has spend money
just like water on Neha's treatment but she could not
get complete relief from the disease. Asthma recurs as
soon as the medicine was stopped. He used to request the
doctor to give him a patented medicine so as to
eradicate recurrence of asthma forever. With this
attitude of her father, none of the doctors could gather
courage to say that asthma can be controlled but can not
be eradicated or cured completely. Doctor gave medicine
to her which were continued for weeks and
months.
At the time of next asthmatic attack her
father becomes frustrated and started scolding the
doctor as a quack and Neha as a negligent girl. It
created a psychological problems for Neha so much so
that she became a helpless child. She was scared more
from her father than from the agony of asthma attack.
She tried to hide her problems. Whenever her father was
at home she tried hard not to sneeze and exerted
violently to stop the cough. In this attempt many a
times she had tears in her eyes. Her mother used to work
as buffer. The whole family was disturbed and lived at a
great stress of asthma.
Curiosity:
-
What will be the fate of Neha?
- How problem was solved?
Neha's
father then attended an asthma training program on the advice
of a friend. There he realized that tendency of asthma
will remain throughout her daughter's life. However,
with judicious and regular use of medicine one can live
perfectly normal life. The poor father while interacting
with other parents of many asthmatic children found that
he was not alone in fighting war against asthma. Then he
stopped running after various magic therapies to cure
asthma and took regular treatment with a specialist for
her daughter. Now all the members of the family are
living a happy
life. Expert
